Although the company had started to step foot in the American Business Stream at July 1, 2003 A.D. the establishment of this company dates back in the mid-2002 A.D. The company has been listed under the NASDAQ by the symbol of JRVR for 2 times, once during the mid 2007 and the nest once during the end of 2014
The major products that are provided by James River Insurance include Allied Healthcare, Commercial Auto, Energy, Environmental, Excess causality, General causality, Excess Property, Life Sciences, Manufacturers and Contractors, Medical Professionals, Professional Liability, Small Accounts- Causality along with Sports and Entertainment.
The primary objective of the company is to produce an underwriting profit with superior return to the stakeholders by providing a wide risk-taking appetite and to provide very responsive, quick and efficient solutions for problems regarding insurance to the clients of the company. The goals include Accountability, Innovative works, Proper Customer Care, Better Communication and Team Work and Integrity.



Employee Reviews:

Some employees has complains regarding no job advancements in the company. The company’s management is quite young and new that is why it hasn’t taken much of a pace. The system lacks proper efficiency and maturity.

Opportunities are well provided to those who are willing to work hard and give their best in their work and it has a great culture of working

It is in fact a place for only those people who are ready to excel no matter what workload you get.
Here you can even get paid time off, paid holidays along with bereavement and paid gym membership. You’ll be getting paid schooling, time off during volunteering, and a holiday at floater. 

There is an early close here each month along with the provision of healthy snacks.
The staffs and other senior members of the company are very friendly towards each other and they even recognize your birthdays, baby showers and weddings.etc. Thus, most of the co-workers are pretty fun to work around with.

It does have some cons as well that are specified by the employees who had worked in the company or who are currently working here.

Phones calls are to be answered quickly while you’re still handling things on the office desk. Not all clients are friendly and cheerful; some may even be rude which is also to be handled calmly and cheerfully.

There may exist favoritism for the promotion of the employees working.
You won’t be getting to work overtime here, and all the jobs are to be done while present in the office itself, though it can be done at home. Thus there isn’t a proper room for growth even though if the company is a growing company.

Thus the company seems to have equal no. of satisfactions from the employees here that helps in promoting its manpower, while there are near about equal cons of the company as well which are to be taken care by the company for its betterment.


 Customer Reviews:

People on some online sites have reviewed on JRIC having an excellent customer service quality. The help their clients in almost all of the problems relating to insurance by providing all the advises available in the regarding field. They also help their customers in most of their ups and downs during the business. Some have even reviewed on having a safe policy of their choice which has helped them a lot for the security of their belongings and their lives with the help of insurance.
Not all online review sites show positive response towards the company. Most of them have complained a lot about the managements and claiming processes of the company. People have stated the company to have a horrible support towards their customers regarding the insurance system.
Most people haven’t given a good review on the customer service provided by the company. They say it is terrible and the staffs act very rude towards the clients when a claim is to be filed and in some cases the staffs do not even receive the phone calls if it is from the customers.
Some people have complained on their claims being filed by the company only after continuous pressure and demand by the clients themselves towards the company. Even the supervisor of the company himself wasn’t fount to be responsive for some of the customer’s issues.


The company doesn’t seem to be doing fair work for most of its clients regarding the insurance business. So, most of the customers doesn’t seem to be recommending the company for other page or site viewers.
